TROY THOMPSON - SUDBURY STAR FEATURE

The Gym Fitness Centre Takeover

Troy Thompson started hanging out at The Gym Fitness Centre on Sparks Street when he was just 12 years old.

The young hockey player quickly developed a love of fitness that saw him compete in bodybuilding events and then strongman competitions.

All the while, he remained a big believer in The Gym Fitness Centre and owner Ron Hache, a firefighter by day, bodybuilder by nights and weekends.

Branching out in the field of personal training, Thompson opened a section in The Gym for extreme training in the fitness facility that features enormous truck tires, kettle bells and even an "Atlas" concrete ball he and his wife, Dana Tantalo, made in their kitchen. The T2 Training Studio items are not just for local supermen and superwomen, but come in various sizes to accommodate all types and ages of hard-core fitness buffs.
